The freedom to smile at a funny thought.

I wrote down some of the unenumerated freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States of America (article of amendment the ninth).

  1. The freedom to make lists.

  2. The freedom to get stuck in traffic.
  3. The freedom to vote for the greater of two (or more) evils.
  4. The freedom to carry all the groceries in one trip.
  5. The freedom to write (37)×5 as ×375, or even 375×.

  6. The freedom to pretend you’re living in a sung-through musical.

  7. The freedom to think about all the math and science that’s way over your head.
  8. The freedom to say “Merry Arbor Day.”
  9. The freedom to insert “Once upon a time…” when reading any document out loud.

  10. The freedom to wear a swimsuit while surfing the web.
  11. The freedom to repeat yourself.
  12. The freedom to repeat yourself.
  13. The freedom to define your own alphabetical order.

  14. The freedom to poke at the page with your browser’s developer tools.

  15. The freedom to encourage people to register to vote.
  16. The freedom to write upside-down.

  17. The freedom to explain the joke.
  18. The freedom to (attempt to) recycle.
  19. The freedom to wish that aliens really did show up in act three. It would have made it a better film or novel!
  20. The freedom to replace your couch’s throw pillows with stuffed animals.
  21. The freedom to refer to this entry as the preantepenultimate list item.
  22. The freedom to be reasonable, and to remain reasonable.
  23. The freedom to set house rules for board games.
