I say with blind confidence that it’s already happened even though I’m not aware of a concrete example. Sometime, somewhere, someone has already named a child after a character from The Simpsons.
I bring this up because I’m both afraid and amused at the prospect that ten, twenty years down the road we’ll live in a world where anywhere from 100,000 to 1,000,000 young boys named Bart with flat top haircuts and slingshots will emerge.
I’m not sure if the term ‘Generation D’oh!’ refers to that generation named Bart and Maggie and Lisa and Marge and Homer and Krusty and Moe and Wiggums and so on, or their parents. Or both.
But they’re out there, so look alive.
Hell, you may even be one of them.
