Curbside and Roadside

Just a quick human language quirk. The title says most of it: in most circumstances the meaning of curbside and roadside is the same: the shoulder of the road.

Just a quick human language quirk.  The title says most of it: in most circumstances the meaning of curbside and roadside is the same: the shoulder of the road.

But the distinction isn’t entirely useless.  In the minority situation, such as sitting in a vehicle on the shoulder, curbside refers to the side away from the road while roadside refers to the side toward the road.
