Examination of other bad beliefs in the face of holocaust denial.

Short and to the point: why does Holocaust Denial evoke such a fervent opposition while Intelligent Design, Global Warming Denial, Anti-Women and Anti-Gay behaviors and attitudes are if not accepted then tolerated? Why do we tolerate Scientology? Classism? In other words, what is this giant double standard for? Who is served by it? If we as a planet feel a duty to condemn those who deny the events of the past, why do we not also feel compelled to condemn those who deny the present? Who deny the scientific evidence of e.g. the promise of Stem Cells? Is it just a matter of there being extremely few proponents of Holocaust Denial, while the other groups are larger? Is that the whole of the difference? (Aside: roughly 48 hours out from the new theme. May experience some downtime when it rolls out)
