Art: Candle on a Table.

A candle burning at left on a table in a dark room. On wall at right, a framed painting of the same scene in grayscale, with a coin. Inset in the painting, the same again, but with a glass in place of the coin.

The insets are harder to see at this resolution.

Mostly satisfied with how this one ended up. The big mistake I keep making is building atop the base image that makes it difficult to modify the base without needing to go recreate the other work.

In this case, I should have added a candle-holder, but I’d already done the paintings, so I’d have had to go back and redo them. But the base of the candle is broad enough maybe it’s self-standing or maybe the person who put it there dripped some wax down and used that to stick it to the table.

I mainly wanted to use the fact the month ends with Halloween to do some spookier images. We’ll see if I can keep to it.
